Darien, New Canaan & Rowayton/Wilson Point Weekly Market Reports
Ahhh – the sweet days of summer. I’m already having anxiety that summer is coming to an end. I heard on the news that we’re losing 2-3 minutes of sunlight a day. I have to admit that I’m not looking forward to fall and especially not winter, but I am looking forward to the real estate market picking up.
For now, here’s a recap of the current summer market:
Darien had no new listings, 3 price reductions, no accepted offers, 1 home under deposit and 5 properties closing – some of the properties closed for more than I would have expected, to be honest, especially given the days on the market.
New Canaan was more active with 9 new listings, 3 price reductions, and, dare I say it, 1 price increase. If it doesn’t sell – let’s raise the price! 3 homes went pending and 5 closed. The selling price was between 80 and 95% of the original list price.

Rowayton was surprisingly busy with 3 price reductions, 1 accepted offer, 1 home under deposit and 1 property closing. It’s still not the busy market it was, but it seems to have had some improvement. Wilson Point had 1 price reduction.
