Professional Bio

Hello! I'm Rachel Walsh, and I have been serving the Darien, New Canaan and lower Fairfield County real estate marketplace for 23 years. My goal is to help people find the perfect place to call home, wherever that may be. I enjoy enhancing my clients' experience through every stage of the real estate process ~ before, during and after a move. My clients can expect unparalleled dedication, integrity, honesty, outstanding personalized service, and a laser focus on the details. As an analytical and creative thinker, I'm able to help my clients get the best price when they buy and sell their home.

Achievements

My passion for real estate and client satisfaction fueled my success, leading me to become one of only a few Diamond Level agents, the highest level achievable within Sotheby's International Realty. I am consistently in the Top 15 of the company and am often number one in my office and region. I am an author and am currently writing a book about real estate to help new real estate agents succeed. I have also been interviewed and published in many newspapers, online news sources and magazines.

I have shared my real estate expertise as a contributor for The Wall Street Journal. the Darien Times, the New Canaan Advertiser, DailyVoice.com, CT Cottages & Gardens and The New York Times. I take pride in my achievements, however at the end of the day, the real success is in the trust and relationships I have built with my clients.

Community Involvement

Community is very important to me, and I am actively involved in local organizations in an effort to bring people together. As an animal lover, I try to be involved in local animal rescues and adoptions and have paid the fees for others to adopt kill shelter dogs. I support the New Canaan Youth Center's Secret Santa program for underprivileged children in Fairfield County each year, the New Canaan Nature Center and Library, The New Canaan Gardening Group and on a larger scale, Americares, the Alzheimer's Association, The American Heart Association and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I also run a community-based monthly seminar series about real estate, community issues such as drug addiction, heart disease, learning CPR, animal adoption and other timely issues that affect us all.

About Me

I have always lived in the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. I was born in New Jersey and grew up in Upper Montclair, NJ and lived for a time in beautiful southern NJ between the bay and the ocean. I've lived in Manhattan's midtown and upper west side, and on the beautiful coastline of Westchester County, NY. I have spent the last 30-years in idyllic Darien and New Canaan, CT. I have three children who grew up in both Darien and New Canaan, attended both school systems, ultimately graduating from New Canaan High School then graduating from Connecticut College (with a Master's degree from Chapman University), Lehigh University and Loyola University, Maryland, and who now live all around the world including Los Angeles, New York City and New Zealand.

I live in an antique home but also love new construction. I am very house-wise and know a lot about structure, maintenance, design, renovations, staging, organization and more.  I love to read, write, walk my dog, go to the local beaches and parks, and travel with my husband, friends or children.  I went to school for English with an advanced degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.  I have been in the hospitality and service industry for over 30-years and have worked in management and VIP Services at two luxury Central Park South hotels in NYC. Hospitality and service is ingrained in me and is something I don't take lightly.

I would love the opportunity to help you.
