Welcome to Darien
A small, idyllic commuter town on the Gold Coast located less than an hour from the city with several gorgeous parks and beaches
Primarily a commuter town, Darien is the smallest city on Connecticut's posh, beautiful Gold Coast. Here, you'll find a peaceful, coastal community with architecturally diverse homes and a vibrant downtown area. Darien's downtown is currently undergoing several significant renovations, including projects to build a more eco-friendly town, more stores, new housing developments, and more.
Perhaps the biggest draw to this small, idyllic town is its convenience to New York City. With two local train stations, Norton Heights and The Darien, residents can get to the city in under an hour, a significant draw to anyone commuting from here to the city for work. While there is plenty to do in NYC, Darien isn't without its own delights, including several beaches, well-tended parks, sophisticated country clubs, and a world-class library.
